On behalf of  the ENTIRE ESSENTIAL WORKFORCE reporting to work as scheduled, I hereby take this time out, expressing to you our deepest concerns regarding this current pandemic. As we all know, majority of employers were forced to suspend all operations because of it, leaving many Americans unemployed. As essential workers, we understand that we're exempt to this but what we also understand, is that our own health is at a greater risk than anyone else's. Our public exposure also makes us the most susceptible in spreading the virus. Proper PPE is scarce and over priced. Most, if not, all essential workers are working without the proper protective equipment needed to protect themselves.  While there's a glimmer of gratitude being  that we are still employed, that doesn't conclude that our lives our are void  by the catastrophic impact of COVID-19 .

Many of us:

-  Live with someone who's unemployed because of the pandemic.

- Have kids to at home, with no one capable of babysitting due to social distancing.

- Are elderly  or born with a weaker immune system.

- Are mentally, physically and emotionally drained due to stress and a  hellacious workload.

- Have a second job, having to overcompensate.  This increases our likelihood in catching the virus.

Etc.
      
      In conclusion, we gratefully  ask that you highly consider implementing a stimulus package for essential workers. We are risking our lives every moment we open our door. As a universe, we've never dealt with anything of this nature. For those of us who continue reporting  to work as scheduled, we dread the thought of catching this virus.  We have to curb an unbearable amount of fear from the moment we leave our homes, to the moment we leave our workplace. To ignore  proposals, regarding a monetary incentive can either mean that we are being taken for granted or  the "pandemic" isn't as lethal as the media portrays. Either way, this pandemic  highlights our importance to the world being that we are society's backbone. "Thank you's", hugs,  hand shakes and  pats on the back do not suffice for the work we've put forth. "Hazardous pay means work duty that causes extreme physical discomfort and distress which is not adequately alleviated by protective devices is deemed to impose a physical hardship" - U.S Department Of Labor.     COVID-19 meets that criteria so why is it being ignored ? 

The purpose of this petition is to raise awareness nationwide. Vast majority of essential workers aren't paid adequately and to expect us to continue working with hardly any PPE and no monetary incentive is gross negligence.
