The Issue

President Trump just moved to rescind the Roadless Rule — a crucial protection that has safeguarded 58 million acres of pristine national forests since 2001. This rollback opens the door to reckless logging and roadbuilding in some of the last untouched wildlands in America.

These forests aren’t just trees, they’re home to countless wildlife, vital ecosystems, and clean air and water for our communities. They’re sacred places for many of us, part of what makes this country so beautiful and worth fighting for.

The administration claims this is about wildfire prevention, but science shows the opposite: roads and logging make wildfires worse. This isn’t about safety. It’s about handing over our public lands to industry.

We cannot let this happen. Once these forests are gone, they’re gone forever.

We urge the U.S. Forest Service and Congress to keep the Roadless Rule in place and protect our forests for future generations.
