MESSAGE FROM MARGARET Ahoy and Heads Up Friends and Neighbors! Despite all of the rhetoric and publicity, we are still a Shack family; operating a true fish house, restaurant, and gathering spot, doing what we do best. It's dedicated commitment. It's not JUST a business. It's a way of life worth cherishing. A SHACK LOVE STORY WITH HAPPY ENDING The Shack's fiery red-headed Irish waitress, Jane Allen, met Boat Captain Jack at the Shack. Their romance is sure to be a movie classic! They prove that the Shack is a "Magical Place". Captain Jack retired last week, and unfortunately for us, Jane is hanging up her boots on Saturday. This is her last official working day at the Shack. Jane and Captain Jack are sailing away! Please stop by to give her your best. FILMING YOUR SHACK STORY Film crew will return this weekend. Expect at least Saturday afternoon and a happy hour. This is your chance to tell "Your Shack Story." Release forms are required to be filmed and signs are posted "Filming in Progress." We have been visiting the shack by boat since day one and often times filling up with fuel to patronize both businesses. Losing The Shack was reason number one that we decided to keep our boat elsewhere. Mixed messages and vague answers to questions about construction timelines and increasing dock prices put the final nail in the coffin. Way to alienate the locals that have supported this place for decades... ENGLAND — We visited in February and had a lovely meal served by the most friendly staff and we were looking forward to our next visit ARIZONA — This is exactly the kind of place that brings people to Florida. Why would anyone want to throw that away? NEW YORK — When in town about 5 times a year I buy fish to bring home to my moms place in Seminole and I stay to have shrimp and grouper sandwich for lunch , in closing if a agreement cannot be met I hope the city of St Pete will put pressure on the marina owners to help make a agreement. SCOTLAND — We vacation in Maximo and love the Shack...it needs to be saved. PINELLAS PARK — Save old florida!
