Don't ban abortion across the nation of the USA!
The Issue
The supreme court has overturned Roe vs. Wade. If you don't know what Roe vs. Wade is, I'll explain it the best that I can in the next paragraph.
Roe vs. Wade makes it so that pregnancy abortion is legal. They (the supreme court) made Roe vs. Wade because a woman (who remains anonymous) stood up for what she believes is right. But, the decision wasn't finalized. So, since it wasn't finalized, the supreme court has overturned the decision which is bad for women/trans/non-binary people who don't want to or can't carry a baby in their uterus to fullterm.
Why should all abortions be made legal?
Well, I've got a story for you.
Olga Reyes, 22, waited in pain for hours at the hospital ward in 2006. She had already been turned away from one hospital but arrived at the next one with the proof that she needed urgent care: an ultrasound scan from a private clinic that showed an ectopic pregnancy was rupturing her fallopian tube.
The fertilised egg had implanted itself outside her womb and the embryo, at about six weeks old, could not survive but was threatening her life: Reyes was bleeding to death. Doctors delayed treatment, fearful of the repercussions of the ban on therapeutic abortions that had been introduced only months earlier, in November 2006. By the time they took Reyes for surgery it was too late.
The 22-year-old law student, who had celebrated her wedding only two months earlier, suffered repeated heart attacks during the operation and died from cerebral arrest due to haemorrhaging.
What could happen if abortions aren't made legal again?
If abortions are not made legal again in the near future (in the next couple years), lots of women/transgender/non-binary people could die from unsafe abortions. Unsafe abortions happen when the people who are administering the abortion medications aren't trained on how to administer the medication or don't know what they're doing. Unsafe abortions also might happen when it's done in a unsafe environment (not very clean and out in public).
People are having spend lots of money everyday just go fly to a different state to get an abortion. Both of those things plus accomodations like a place to stay and food cost a lot of money. Not a lot of people can pay for flights, food, and other accomodations.
Personally, I think they (the politicians) should make a national law that bans the individual states from banning pregnancy abortions. If you agree with me, please sign this petition so that the law can be made!
