ENGLISH TRANSLATION BELOW

Mi, doktorandusz hallgatók, azért fogalmazzuk meg jelen kiállásunkat, mert úgy gondoljuk, hogy a jelenlegi doktorandusz ösztöndíjak nem biztosítják a hallgatók megélhetését, nem teremtik meg a tudományos kutatás, illetve a színvonalas oktatási és az azt támogató tevékenységek minimálisan szükséges előfeltételeit sem. 

Jelenleg az ösztöndíj értékének összegébe nincs beépítve semmiféle automatizmus, amely akár csak a hivatalos infláció követését lehetővé tenné. A nyolc évvel ezelőtt meghatározott havi 140.000 illetve 180.000 forintnyi ösztöndíj mértéke mára elvesztette értékét.

Míg az akkor megállapított összegből a fiatal kutatók reálisan foglalkozhattak főállásban kutatással, oktatással és az akadémiai élettel, addig azóta ez az összeg alapvető megélhetésre sem elég. Miközben elvárás a nemzetközi publikáció, a konferencia részvétel, az akadémiai státusz kiépítése, a tudás létrehozása, nyugat-európai kollégáink akár tízszer nagyobb ösztöndíjjal teszik ezt.

Jelenlegi ösztöndíjunk a 2024-es nettó minimálbértől is elmarad, a nettó garantált bérminimum, amely minden más munkahelyen járna diploma után, a kezdő doktori ösztöndíj másfélszerese. 

Ezért sürgetően szükségesnek tartjuk a doktorandusz ösztöndíj 100%-os emelését, mellyel a mostani összeg a duplájára emelkedne!

Ezen az úton haladva, ahogy a tanári pálya, úgy a PhD sem  vállalható jövőkép a friss mesterdiplomások számára, ezzel nem csak veszélyeztetve az Akadémia  és az egyetemek szellemi utánpótlását, de hazánk nemzetközi helyét is a tudományos életben.

A tudás, a kultúra és az innováció alapvető értékek bármilyen közösség életében, minden egyes tagjának életét és jövőjét meghatározzák. Ennek elismerése és értékelése minden vezető feladata kellene hogy legyen. Mi is csatlakozunk a tanárokhoz és az ELTE egyetemi dolgozóihoz, részünkről kifejezve elégedetlenségünket ösztöndíjaink minőségével, amely a mindennapi megélhetést is ellehetetleníti. 

Doktorandusz hallgatóként / más beosztásban dolgozó egyetemi polgárként / szimpatizánsként támogatom a doktorandusz hallgatók követeléseit.

We, doctoral students, are making this statement because we believe that the current doctoral scholarships do not ensure the livelihood of the students, nor do they create the minimum necessary conditions for scientific research and high-quality teaching and supporting activities. 

At present, there is no automatic mechanism built into the amount of scholarships which would allow them to follow even the official inflation. The HUF 140,000 and 180,000 per month scholarships set eight years ago have now lost their value.

While the amount set at the time was realistic enough to allow young researchers to pursue research, teaching and academic life full-time, it has since become insufficient to provide a basic living. While international publication, conference attendance, building academic status and knowledge creation are expected, our colleagues in Western Europe do so on grants up to ten times higher.

Our current stipend is below the net minimum wage in 2024, the net guaranteed minimum wage that would be paid in any other workplace after graduation is one and a half times the starting PhD stipend. 

We therefore urgently need a 100% increase in the doctoral stipend, doubling the current amount!

Following this path, both teaching and PhDs are not a viable future for fresh Master's graduates, thus endangering not only the intellectual supply of universities, but also the international position of Hungary in the academic world.

Knowledge, culture and innovation are fundamental values in the life of any community, determining the life and future of every member of it. Recognising and valuing this should be the task of all leaders. We join with the teachers and academic staff of ELTE in expressing our dissatisfaction with the quality of our scholarships, which also makes it impossible to make a living. 

As a doctoral student / university citizen working in other positions / as a supporter, by signing this petition I express my support for this cause.
