Do you bike in winter, want bike lanes plowed?

The Issue

Do you bike in winter for leisure or a form of transportation?  Tired of not having plowed bike lanes, sidewalks or multi-use paths while cities across Canada like Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal and more have safe plowed bike infrastructure?

The City of Greater Sudbury believe it or not already has Minimal Maintenance Standards (MMS) for bike lanes, they just choose to have them "closed" seasonally.  According to Sudburys Active Transportation Winter Policy (signed August 2019) standards are set to when bike lanes are to be plowed, it also states due to lack of winter ridership bike lanes will remain in a closed state until ridership increases.

Ive not seen a survery asking if you bike in winter, nor is there any details who they asked or studied winter riders, if at all.

Sign this petition, show Sudbury people do ride in winter, some out of need, some out of leisure.  The more signatures we get the more likely to have bike lanes open in winter.  Its time for change, not only for cyclists but the disabled people who also use bike lanes on mobility devices.

Who knows, maybe once people see Sudbury other cities across Canada will see its a viable option for year round transportation thats much cheaper than maintaining more and more roads.  Remember, more bikes means less cars to be stuck in traffic with.

WE DESERVE AND PAY FOR SAFE BIKING, WALKING AND MOBILITY YET LET IT BE STRIPPED AWAY, ITS TIME FOR CHANGE!
