The Hartford Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 760, is currently in contract negotiations with Mayor Arunan Arulampalam. Fire fighters have served this community for over 161 years and are now looking to get support from residents and business owners across the city. A proud Class – 1 accredited department, its members have served the community every hour of every day, and over the years, 55 of those members have given their lives to ensure that the Public Safety of the residents of the City of Hartford comes second to none. The Hartford Fire Department is the busiest fire department in the state, taking over 34,000 calls and responding to more structure fires to protect life and property than any other fire department. Most importantly only residents/taxpayers of the city are allowed to apply for the honor to serve the community in the capacity of firefighter. In the last 4 years we have had the lowest participation in that application process in the history of this storied department. This is why your support is being sought.

We, the undersigned, request that Mayor Arulampalam, prioritize our Public Safety by providing wages commensurate with the ideals of those who so willingly risk their own lives to provide life safety to our families and to protect our property.
