Do not cap Co2 emissions.
Do not cap Co2 emissions.
The Issue
This will be a tricky introduction, but here it goes.
Global warming is not a man-made phenomenon. If I were to ask you, the people of the United States what you thought the biggest contributing factor to greenhouse gasses would be, what would your response be?
I'm guessing most of you would stay Carbon Dioxide (Or Co2).
My next question would then be: How much Co2 emitted each year is produced by man?
The real answer may be shocking, especially since you've probably only ever heard one side of the story. The side fueled by a handful of Scientists who get massive funding whenever they cry Wolf, and the public listens.
The answer to the 2nd question is 11%. (This is based on the Pre-Industrial baseline, which measured the amount of Co2 in the air before the Industrial revolution, and then taking into account new Co2 in the air.)
If that isn't surprising enough, there is another fact you might want to know. Co2 is responsible for 4% of the total greenhouse gas emissions on earth. That means that humans are responsible for .44% of global warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions (which are not the only reason the planet cools and warms).
These are facts. You simply have to do a little side research by yourself, and stop letting the lobbyists do the thinking for you.
The current stance taken by America and the rest of the Western World will only cripple the economy. Capping carbon output will not only have little to no benefits to the enviroment, but it will also have an enormous negative effect on America's economy.
Now, this does not mean that clean energy is a bad thing. Clean energy is a good thing because most clean energy is renewable. And renewable resources will allow the nation to stop depending on Foreign Oil. However, for the sake of the economy, this must happen gradually. Forcing new energy on America will only cripple the already damaged economy.
I urge you, the informed people of the United States of America, to join the fight against special interests, against fear-mongering in the media, for real science, and goals that truly benefit our great nation.
