Mako was on our list of missing dogs until two days ago. We received heartbreaking news that April took him to a vet and had him euthanized on July 14, approximately 7 weeks after she first took him. He reportedly had sepsis and a fever of 105.
April told his original rescue he was adopted AFTER he was already dead.
Sepsis is a systemic infection in the body. It's not something that usually happens unexpectedly or quickly. There had to have been indicators he was sick ahead of time that April disregarded until it became full-blown sepsis. We don't know what caused the infection, sometimes it can be something internal. But from everyone we've been seeing so far, it probably started in injuries caused by him dragging himself around in that hell hole.
Our thoughts and condolences are with @t_ perfectimperfections on Instagram (Mako’s original rescue). They were still holding out hope he would be found alive somewhere.
Please share your love and light with them. Rest in peace Mako!
