The Arizona Human Society guaranteed that they had not euthanized any dogs yet, but this was a blatant lie. They have already euthanized 5 dogs, including our beloved Rudy, who we believe could have been saved if they had released him to his rightful owner. There are MANY amazing rescues ready and willing to take in these dogs, love, care and provide for, and fund their necessary veterinary care, as they are rehabilitated and recovering from the torture that they endured.

   The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) is saying that they are not releasing these dogs due to an ongoing investigation with the Chandler Police Department, but as of 2 days ago, Chandler PD said that the dogs are able to be released. AHS has stated that the dogs are under a 10 day hold, but now are stating that they extended the hold until the two court hearings, which will be held on October 2nd and 4th. 

   AHS recently held a free adoption day as their facility is over capacity. The contract AHS has with the city it states, “If AHS determines that shelter space within AHS’ facility is unavailable, the city authorizes AHS to place animals in temporary foster care homes, as AHS, in its sole and exclusive discretion may deem appropriate while animal cruelty investigations and prosecutions are pending.” They are more than able to release the dogs to other rescues and their rightful owners willing to provide the extremely needed care, but instead, are withholding these dogs which inhibits their chances of survival. 

   These animals have been victimized enough! They should not be in a shelter right now.

Please join us in demanding that Arizona Humane Society follows their own contract and releases these animals!
