Remove indicted Rep. Corrine Brown as a superdelegate
The Issue
U.S. Representative Corrine Brown was recently indicted for conspiracy, mail and wire fraud, failure to make required disclosures on campaign financial disclosure forms, theft of government property, and tax violations - yet she remains a superdelegate in the Democratic primary.
Criminal defendants have the right to the presumption of innocence until they are convicted, but someone with a pending federal criminal indictment would be turned down for most jobs involving public trust.
We need high standards for superdelegates -- who get to vote the equivalent of 10,000 citizens. We don't want that power handed out to people whose integrity is compromised.
