Climate Change is the defining issue of our generation.  As the inheritors of the Earth, and the upcoming leaders and voting demographic of America, our youthful voices should have equal weight on the issue of climate change.  The American people need to know which candidate to trust in shaping the future of our only planet.

The shape of our planet will considerably worsen to unrecoverable depths prior to the year 2050 (and by some estimates, it's 2030).  The world needs a leader with plans, ambition, and diplomacy that will lead to substantial change and reform, and a Climate Debate provides the best opportunity for Presidential candidates to preview how they will on the issue of Climate Change.  As Climate Change has rapidly become a go-to for presidential candidates, a separate debate for this extensive issue would provide voters with the knowledge and insight they need in determining who is best fit to be our President.

The Wilkes University College Democrats, along with the College Democrats around the nation and the signatories of this petition, ask that the DNC update its agenda to include a Climate Debate for Democratic Presidential Candidates.
