Fracking in the Wayne

Divestment at Ohio University is now more important than ever. The Wayne Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management recently announced that they will be auctioning off Ohio's Wayne National Forest for fracking. Not only will this disproportionally affect thousands of Ohioans living in and around the Wayne, but it will also affect communities across the state- and even the world- as we face climate change caused by deadly methane emissions. How do we stop the cycle of exploitation in our state?At the root of the problem: our public institutions who continue to invest in and profit from the fossil fuel industry.
