Imagine having to walk 3.5 km through mud, slush along side a flooded river and distant threat of wildlife. The children in the village now do that not to miss their classes, women going for work and to buy even the smallest of provisions for their homes. Local panchayath authorities are yet to give a contract to restore the washed away temporary access to the main land. Are they waiting for a report of a physical harm or injury to these poor souls?
