Dissolve the Department of Child Services and Child Protective Services

As a heartbroken parent and a victim of a devastating, deeply flawed system, I am stepping forward to demand the dissolution of the Department of Child Services (DCS) and Child Protective Services (CPS). I must share my distressing experience of how my children were forcibly removed from our home by law enforcement officials under the direction of DCS without a preliminary investigation or adherence to the due process of law.

Such an act of blatant overreach is an affront to parental rights and the constitutional due process rights accorded to every citizen. The current system is plagued with issues leading to rampant mismanagement, false allegations, and kidnapping under a mismasked mantra of child protection.

According to the 2018 Child Maltreatment Report by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), false allegations of child maltreatment constituted a staggering 46% of all reports made nationwide. More ominously, the system lacks adequate oversight mechanisms to prevent its abuse. This is a glaring indictment of the effectiveness and fairness of DCS and CPS.

Our children deserve to grow up in nurturing environments and are far too precious to be subjected to such misconduct, injustice, and trauma. The dissolution of DCS/CPS is not just about restoring parental rights; it is the first step towards replacing an ineffective system with one that truly advocates for the safe and healthy development of our children.

It's time for a major change. It's time to replace the failing DCS/CPS with a system genuinely committed to protecting our children without trampling upon the rights of innocent parents. I urge you to lend your voice to this vital cause. Please sign this petition today.
