After viewing the end of Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker one thing was clear; Ben Solo should have lived.

It is no secret that the emotional and mental toll that this writing decision made has wrecked and broken the hearts of many Star Wars fans, going so far as to ruin a trilogy that they loved.

These are just some of the reasons why Ben Solo should live:

1) So Rey wouldn’t be alone again and have her own family

2) To make Han’s, Luke’s and Leia’s sacrifices matter to save the last Skywalker 

3) To maintain the themes of the sequel trilogy; of the two halves of one whole, you can’t just kill off half of a soul and expect people to accept that

4) To ease and quell the emotional and mental torment of this unnecessary choice on the fans of the franchise

5) To recognise that life after redemption is possible for those who currently walk a dark path and that they can go on

His death occurred in the last 10-15 minutes of the film, we as fans want him back either through refilming these last scenes and releasing the alternatives and canon ending on the home release or for him to physically return in further instalments in books and/or comics.
