As a deeply concerned Pittsburgh Pirates fan, I've been witnessing the agonizing and distressing performance of our team's offense under the guidance of hitting coach Andy Haines. The 2024 season has been particularly painful, with our offensive struggles reaching an all-time high. Our Pittsburgh Pirates OPS has plummeted to an unacceptable low, with many players unable to reach the low bar of a 600 OPS in the 2024 season (25th in the MLB), and we attribute this directly to Mr. Haines' coaching methods.

The statistics speak for themselves - in 2024, the Pirates have had one of their worst offensive seasons in recent memory. Our batting average is among the lowest in Major League Baseball (MLB), ranked 22nd. Our run production is significantly below league average, ranked 21st. Meanwhile, our Pirates have struck out the 4th most in the MLB, while leaving a league worst 8.06 runners on base PER GAME. 

This poor performance not only affects the morale of players but also disheartens us fans who invest time, money, and emotion into supporting our team.

We believe that a change in leadership can turn things around for us. It's time to bring on board a new hitting coach who can effectively guide our offense towards success.

This petition isn't just about baseball statistics; it's about restoring hope and excitement to thousands of Pirates fans who have endured years of disappointment due to ineffective coaching strategies.

Please join me in calling on the Pittsburgh Pirates management to dismiss Andy Haines from his position as hitting coach due to his inability to effectively lead our offense!
