My name is Megan but this is not only my story so when I submit this petition just please keep in mind that I am writing this on behalf of very special, smart, and dedicated group of people. I have to give credit when/ where it's due. Day in and day out, I find myself reading articles, deciphering data, and spending countless hours on forums trying to substantiate or debunk claims regarding extraterrestrial contact. I am not alone in this endeavor; there are thousands of us across the globe, dedicating our lives to seeking the truth. However, this obsessive pursuit has taken a toll on many, discrediting their sanity and altering their lives irreversibly in their quest for knowledge.

It’s time for us to end this uncertainty and demand honesty from our government. A disclosure of information about alien life or any previous extraterrestrial contact could not only quell collective curiosity but also conserve substantial time, money, and resources currently devoted to maintaining secrecy. After all, a poll in 2019 revealed that nearly two-thirds of Americans believe the government has knowledge about extraterrestrial life they are not sharing (Gallup, 2019).

Aside from the purely practical benefits, such disclosure would also represent an important step toward transparency and trust between the government and its citizens, principles that form the bedrock of our democracy.

We, the signatories, therefore entreat the government to release any and all information they may be withholding about extraterrestrial contact. The potential repercussions — from saving resources to preserving mental health, fostering trust, and advancing scientific knowledge — are too significant to be ignored. Make a promise to remain orderly and composed upon this disclosure and everyday all the time thereafter , and show your support for transparency and truth.
