I am writing this petition to raise awareness and demand accountability for an issue that I hold dear to my heart. As a former fan of BTS, I have come to recognize a troubling pattern in their history that many fans, unfortunately, choose to overlook or excuse. My concern stems from BTS's past behavior, which includes several incidents perceived as racist. More recent events show BTS members attending a Chris Brown concert, with members RM & J-Hope later posing in a photo with him. Despite numerous discussions within fan communities, these issues remain largely unaddressed by both BTS and their management.

BTS, a globally recognized South Korean music group, has captured the hearts of millions, including mine. However, this adoration should not come at the cost of turning a blind eye to offensive actions. There have been instances, such as cultural appropriation and stereotyping, that seem to be swept under the rug by their massive fanbase, known as "ARMY." It's crucial that fans, who are a powerful force in music and culture worldwide, hold their favorite artists accountable, encouraging growth and positive change.

Globally acclaimed artists possess an immense influence on society, particularly on the younger generation. With such influence comes great responsibility. If BTS truly wants to champion the themes of love and acceptance they often sing about, they must also confront and address their past mistakes openly. Ignoring such issues only perpetuates a cycle of ignorance and insensitivity.

We urge Big Hit Entertainment, BTS's management company, to take these concerns seriously and begin an open dialogue addressing their past actions. Introducing mandatory sensitivity and cultural training for BTS and their team can pave the way for a more informed and respectful approach to their artistry. Additionally, we ask BTS to publicly acknowledge these past issues and articulate concrete steps they will take to ensure inclusivity and respect for all cultures.

Signing this petition is not about spreading hate or ill will. It is about demanding justice and accountability from artists who have the privilege to influence many lives. We hope to inspire dialogue amongst fans and promote a fan culture that embraces accountability and growth. Let's come together to ensure that BTS lives up to the universal values they promote and becomes a beacon of positive change in the entertainment industry.
