As a student who is part of many marginalized communities, I have experienced the unfortunate life of discrimination and prejudice. Too often, I've observed and heard of situations where schools have failed to accept harmless identities and hobbies. Even worse, many schools lack necessary support for students with special needs or disabilities. Some have even gone to the extent of preventing students with certain identities from attending, or are considering it. This needs to be addressed for sure.

Schools should be safe places, places where students, no matter of their identity and capabilities, feel accepted, supported, and respected. Rules were put in place to help these students out. And of course, there’s schools that are like this. However, these schools are hard to access most of the time for many families. They can be expensive, or they may be in a hard location. Either way, many of these students continue to face challenges in education due to lack of suitable resources and discriminatory behaviors of others. I do not believe this should be happening.

It is a must that all educational institutions enforce comprehensive inclusivity policies. Such policies, respecting and encouraging diversity, would go a long way in fostering an accepting environment. Furthermore, it is imperative that necessary resources and aids are provided for students with special needs and disabilities. This will ensure that every student has a fair chance in their educational journey, so they can grow up to be who they want to be while being a helpful part of our society.

Hence, this petition calls to educational authorities for all schools to adopt inclusive policies and provide appropriate resources and support for students with special needs and disabilities. 

Together, signing this petition, will help many students. While it may not help everyone, it’s another step towards full equality.
