There is also a growing literature and evidence on the links between digital devices and distractions, reduced interactions and cyber-bullying in the schoolyard. Many countries and schools are toughening their ban the use of mobile phones in class and during breaks. We believe the European School should do more and extend the current ban to breaks and meal times. We believe that students must switch off their devices and store them in lockers during school hours and should only be allowed to alert parents during an emergency with the authorization of counselors or teacher.
