Dingoes Starving on Fraser Island

Dingoes Starving on Fraser Island
The Issue
Dingoes on Fraser Island are possibly facing extinction under the Government's current management plan. Although Fraser Island is a World Heritage Listed island and dingoes should automatically be considered a protected species, many of them are apparently suffering from starvation. Furthermore, culls have continued and cruel methods are employed to reduce human-dingo interactions, including hazing and poisoning.
The State Government has defended the dingo management plan, claiming that the dingoes are not starving, but that they are naturally lean. In response, the Government has been accused of putting tourism above the welfare of the dingo population.
