We have been able to bring to the attention of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority the fact that we want 1080 removed from use. This has never before been done with direct communication. We told the Authority that we do not want 1080 used in urban areas so that our pets will die, or human health at risk. APVMA say they didn't know their use requirements were not being met and are now investigating. I am in communication with APVMA We need to tell the APVMA loudly how much we don't want to lose our pets. We hate 1080 for what it does to any animal, it is cruel. The 2008 Report states that there is minimal harm to domestic pets which we know is not true. We need many more signatures and to keep the pressure on these authorities, share with them the stories about your loss so that we can have 1080 removed from use. This is the first legal challenge where we are drawing together the breaches and inaction and asking the authorities to do their jobs properly.
