Newspaper article from March 8, 1995, poison baiting near a community with grave fears for the wellbeing of children. Little has changed. August 2018 saw a grazier baiting near the remote community at Indulkana, following which 12 dogs from the community died. Newspaper article to follow. 

Some of the 12 poisoned dogs were picked up and nursed by children and held as the dogs frothed at the mouth and convulsed. This is unacceptable. This risk to the children in long term is unacceptable.  There is evidence that 1080 has long term health affects in animals, that MUST apply to humans. 1080 is fast becoming a risk to human health and MUST be banned. No amount of "labels" prevent neglect and misuse of a substance that is too toxic to be allowed to be used in any way. It is an inhumane substance that causes an agonizing death of convulsions, spasms, muscle contractions for hours on end.
