Following an announcement by the Minister of Higher Education Science and Innovation that under level 3 of governments’ risk-adjusted approach only a maximum of 33% of the population will be allowed back on campuses, delivery sites and residences Walter Sisulu University announced that it will be receiving this cohort on the 1st of August 2020. It has therefore come into our attention that the university management is proposing further delay on the return of student till the 2nd September 2020.

This will cause further instability to the academic calendar and resulting to mass-deregistration by students who are struggling to study at home due to connectivity challenges and other factors like the environment. We are therefore requesting that you sign this in support of rejecting the unjustified delay.
