It's unbelievable but it's true. And we ALL made this happen. By emailing John Hart, signing this petition, sharing it, joining protests, you have shown the council how much you cared, how dangerous our roads can be for our children. And they have listened to our concerns. And for that we must be grateful. A big thank you to all of you for making this dream become a reality. There have been some people who have really fought hard for this. In particular, I would like to say thank you to Andy Hannan, an incredible councillor who showed a lot of passion and determination and ensured we were all kept informed of the latest developments, Alan Connett who fought hard too and thanks to whom we got some extra time to campaign, Peter Holland and Percy Prowse who showed enormous courage and stood up for what he believed was right for the children, Duncan Wood who is standing to be councillor of Pinhoe and also was great support to all of us, Richard Westlake who spoke eloquently during the meeting and many many many other wonderful councillors who were a real inspiration to us. I must also mention the media who played a huge part in this and in particular the Express and Echo who were wonderful - Anita Merritt and Rob Sims must be applauded as they wrote excellent pieces week after week on the Express and Echo and all the other journalists too from Spotlight, BBC Radio Devon, etc... It was all a big team effort that united everyone, people from all walks of life, professions, beliefs because we all want to protect innocent and vulnerable children. But thank you also from the bottom of my heart to the hundreds of people who actually took time to email John Hart and to let him know, Heart to Hart, how we felt about this. This made a big difference. We want to thank him personally too for listening to what we had to say on this important matter and to all the decision makers involved. The children of Devon are the County and City councillors of tomorrow. Thanks to you all and to the council's final decision to keep protecting our children, they will be going safely to school for hopefully many many years to come. Lucie and the Lollipop Team ;)
