Invincible has become one of the most respected animated superhero series in the world. Fans around the globe love the show for its emotional storytelling, complex characters, and the way it explores how ordinary people live in a world filled with extraordinary power.

One of the most beloved supporting characters in the series is William Clockwell. As the best friend of Mark Grayson, William brings humor, honesty, and emotional support to the story. He represents the human side of Invincible — the people who stand close to danger even without superhuman strength.

The show also took an important step by introducing William as an openly LGBTQ+ character and by portraying his relationship with Rick Sheridan. Many viewers around the world appreciate seeing LGBTQ+ representation included naturally within the series.

However, even though William is popular with fans, his role has mostly remained limited to supporting scenes. He has not yet received a major character arc that allows him to grow alongside the heroes of the series.

Because Season 5 is already deep in production as of June 2026, this petition respectfully asks the creators to consider expanding William Clockwell’s role beginning in Season 6 or a future season of Invincible. Fans hope to see him develop into a canon-friendly superhero in a way that supports the existing animated story and does not interfere with the main journey of Mark Grayson or the original comic book canon.

Giving William a heroic role would strengthen his character development and expand LGBTQ+ representation by showing that LGBTQ+ characters can play meaningful, courageous, and active roles within the Invincible universe.
