Status quo is not acceptable to NRIs - particularly with everything else in India getting better!

When I hear about the exponentially booming progress in India's economy, quality of life, and advancement in quality and efficiency of government services within India it hurts to think of how rudimentary, unreliable and stone-age style India's consulate services and policies still are! Perfect example is the absurd rule about OCI reissue requirement and the unnecessarily painful bureaucratic application process and submission requirements. However, status quo is not acceptable at all. It's a shame that despite repeated tweeting of this petition and updates to PM Modi, Sushma Swaraj, D. M. Dulay and Rajnath Singh there has been no progress or even any response from their end. At this point, we need to switch gears and get stronger by means of reaching out to as many NRIs as we can, get their signatures on this petition. On top of that, everyone who signed this petition can enhance the impact by tweeting the URL of this petition to @PMOIndia, @SushmaSwaraj, @RajnathSingh and @CPVIndia every week and also add text, demanding simplification of the OCI reissue application process to require just the copies of the relevant pages of current (new) passport, old passport (with U visa), original OCI card, and new pictures as the supporting documents for the application.
