An interim solution/safety net: eTourist visa

Until the Indian government comes to its senses and retracts this policy or at least makes it sane (either by simplifying the reissue process to a reasonable level or by adding the language stating that all ages will be allowed to continue to travel to India while carrying old passport with the visa sticker, original OCI card and new passport) there is an easy and relatively inexpensive interim solution that will work as a "safety net": eTourist visa (a one time use visa that will allow 30 days of stay in India)! eTourist visa will only cost $60/person and the application process is extremely simple and short, requiring only photographs and scanned copy of couple of pages from passport! Also, the visa is delivered by e-mail within four days after submitting the application on-line. And the best part of the application process is that CKGS is not involved in it at all!
