72 Hours. 100,000 Voices. Thank You.
I’m honestly overwhelmed. Just three days ago, this petition was launched and now here we are with 100,000 signatures. For someone who was only expecting a modest 10-15 thousand signatures by the end of the week, this number has blown me away.
To every single person who signed, thank you. To those who shared it with friends, family, and communities, thank you.
To those who contributed to paid promotion, thank you for helping this message reach further than I ever imagined.
You’ve helped turn this petition into something much bigger than a call for deportation. You’ve helped amplify the voices of those who were directly and indirectly affected by the attack on Camp Sovereignty and by racial extremism more broadly.
I also want to thank the media not just for covering the petition, but for giving space to the people and communities whose stories deserve to be heard. You’ve helped shine a light on the pain, the resilience, and the truth behind the hardship faced by first nations people.
I also want to acknowledge the media coverage this petition has received. It’s helped bring national and international attention to an issue that many communities have been confronting quietly for far too long, by debunking the belief racism doesn’t exist in Australia anymore. By reporting on this petition, the media has played a role in elevating the conversation around racial violence and violent racial extremist groups.
Addressing Senator Thorpes Concern:
“I don’t think sending a white supremacist to my Māori brothers and sisters of Aotearoa is going to solve anything here.”
I deeply respect Senator Thorpe’s leadership and her unwavering commitment to protecting First Nations communities and confronting white supremacy in Australia.
My call for deportation is not about avoiding responsibility. It is about ensuring that, after Thomas Sewell has faced full legal accountability and served any sentence imposed by the Australian judicial system, he is not allowed to continue operating within the same communities he has harmed, the same communities Senator Thorpe advocates for and is entrusted to serve as an elected representative.
I understand the concern about sending him to Aotearoa, and I do not take that lightly. However, I also believe that any nation including Australia would expect the return of one of its own citizens if they had committed similar acts abroad.
I know this is not a solution to white supremacy, but I see it has a consequence for one individual’s actions, and a disruption to the NSN’s cause.
Again to everyone who has signed, shared and promoted this petition from the bottom of my heart thank you for standing camp Sovereignty. Thank you for standing with each other against the terrorists behaviour of Thomas Sewell and the NSN who should be treated and labelled "the white man's ISIS".
