Deplatform The Destroyers of Twitch!

The Issue

As a small streamer in the LGBTQIA+ community, it is disheartening to witness streamers who gain massive followings and sponsorships by spreading hate and misinformation. This not only demoralizes individuals like me, but it also makes us question our safety on the platform and in real life. What happens if I get on the bad side of someone much bigger? Am I supposed to just run and hide while they profit off my suffering? Should I uproot my entire life when these streamers tacitly approve of, or even encourage, doxxing on Twitch or other platforms?

It is glaringly evident that platforms like Twitch neglect the responsibility to safeguard their communities by allowing individuals who spread misinformation, hate, and extremism to grow and thrive. Prominent creators, such as Kirsche, Asmongold, and many Pro-Kremlin Disinformation Streamers, have been named for the harm they incite. Although some dismiss many of their actions as 'edgy jokes,' the repercussions of their statements reverberate violently throughout the platform's community. From the perspective of a small LGBTQIA+ streamer, this situation is frightening and demoralizing. Seeing major channels profit from bigotry (and get only token reprimands) makes many of us feel unsafe. As Twitch’s own rules forbid harassment and doxxing, we expect protection but events suggest otherwise. The lack of accountability sends a chilling message: Twitch appears to value revenue and entertainment over our security. This atmosphere of fear undermines equity in streaming; it demoralizes marginalized creators who already face disproportionate harassment. In short, the platform’s uneven enforcement and slow response leave us feeling vulnerable, anxious, and questioning whether we can truly belong on Twitch.

It’s time for Twitch to adopt a clear, non-negotiable code of conduct explicitly prohibiting hate speech, harassment, and propaganda. This code should be enforced with strict consequences for those who choose to promote divisiveness and harmful ideologies. Moreover, partnership platforms like Mythic and GamerSupps must be held accountable, urged to stop supporting these creators who enable and empower such detrimental content.  if Twitch won’t firmly police top streamers, how can it protect a tiny queer channel when a mob or doxxer turns on us? The digital harassment we see escalated on these big streams – often without consequence – feels like a direct threat to our personal safety and mental health. We wonder if we’re expected to “just run and hide” when bigger figures tacitly encourage abuse, while those figures monetize controversy and hate.

Our Demands

  • Immediate Audit of Partnered Creators

    • Review all current Twitch Partners, Mythic-sponsored talent, and GamerSupps affiliates for documented incidents of hate speech, extremist content, or the spread of harmful misinformation.

  • Enforce Clear, Non-Negotiable Conduct Standards

    • Publicly define and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech, targeted harassment, and extremist propaganda.

    • Require all partner contracts to include clauses for immediate suspension or termination upon violation.
  • Transparent Reporting & Accountability

    • Publish quarterly reports detailing actions taken against offending creators (suspensions, de-partnering, sponsorship revocations).

    • Create an independent advisory board—including members from affected communities—to review appeal processes and ensure fairness.
  • Reinvest In Positive Community Builders

    • Prioritize partnerships and sponsorships with creators who demonstrate a commitment to inclusive, factual, and respectful content.

    • Offer grants or promotional boosts to streamers working to combat hate speech, misinformation, and extremism on their channels.

Sign this petition to urge Twitch, Mythic, GamerSupps, and similar platforms to deplatform these spreaders of hate and misinformation and cultivate a community built on respect, inclusivity, and positive engagement.
