Every day thousands of people are exposed to noise and air pollution from the leaf blowers across the country. In densely populated apartment building areas this is an issue on a regular basis when residents are waking up from the noise of the leaf blower and exposed to petrol exhaust to start their day. The cleaners operating these machines are wearing masks and ear muffs themselves. But what about the other people around breathing all that dust and fumes in and listening to the noise on a daily basis? What is the purpose of that activity? None of the leaf blowers remove dust, leaves or litter, they just blow them around. And with the next gust of natural wind everything is back to where it was before.

There are more environmentally friendly tools, procedures, equipment and methods that don't produce noise and pollution and clean the surfaces. In Australia we need to have more clean technologies and procedures.
