I am a survivor of Grace Valley Christian Center. This organization is located in Davis, CA (on Road 98) and is a cult that many children are born into. It is run by Reverand PG Matthew and encourages hate against women and the LGBTQ community. We have survived child sex abuse at the hands of church members and leaders. This place brainwashes the congregation and cuts off all ties to the outside world. Families are taught to choose Grace Valley above their own children. Members are not allowed friendships with anyone in the outside world. We could only go to people inside the church for our needs. When we went to a doctor, it had to be one inside the church. An elder, that I was seen by, molested me when I was six years old. He is a doctor in Davis, California and has treated many kids from Grace Valley. When we attended school outside of the church's academy, we were forced to be surrounded by members at all times. When we choose a career, it has to be one approved by the leadership. We were forced to document every day of our lives and submit weekly reports to our group leader. The leaders arrange marriages and abuse women. When a child steps out of line or gets targeted by PG Matthew, they are taken to church "counseling" where they are literally screamed at for hours. Sometimes we are placed in front of a window while being screamed at so that we can be seen by anyone entering the church before the service. In these meetings, a group of full-grown men (the elders) call little children names including "slut, whore, and a dirty tampon". Once a member escapes Grace Valley, the elders spread sexual rumors about them and publicly shame and degrade their family. No one is allowed to contact the escaped member and all ties to their former life and family are completely cut off. Despite the many cries for help that we have given, this place remains the same. This place has deprived us of the basic human rights that the United States of America established for us. It continues to perpetuate a cycle of abuse and trauma that has destroyed many lives. We ask you to step in and make a difference in the lives of many abused children.
