Australia has had its borders closed since 2020 due to Covid 19, leaving Australians stranded and also not allowing expats to visit home after 2 years away from their families.

It has been announced that from December, AU borders will be open to international travellers and temporary visa holders, allowing those overseas to make it home for Christmas and Australian citizens to travel elsewhere.

Unfortunately, he has excluded bridging visa holders even though a bridging B states in the terms you are able to travel, therefore preventing us from seeing loved ones for even longer while some visa applications have up to an 18 month wait to be approved. We can leave but we still need an exemption to return. 

We pay our taxes, we provide essential skills, received double vaccinations and contribute to the economy. It’s discriminatory to stop us from visiting our friends and families while others can.
