Hi,
Thank you to everyone who has signed this petition thus far, we must keep going.
Please share the petition with your friends and family. Tell them this system will lead to improved care for people living with M.E/C.F.S, Long COVID and other chronic illnesses. Those who are advised to participate in non-pharmaceutical 'treatments' find that, if they are negatively impacted, they have nowhere to report harms where they will be dealt with centrally and collated. This means there is no data on harms from non-pharmaceutical 'treatments'.
The National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) recently popped up on my radar - thank you to Sarah and Linda.
From the NLRS website - 'The NLRS is a central database of patient safety incident reports. Since the NRLS was set up in 2003, the culture of reporting incidents to improve safety in healthcare has developed substantially.
All information submitted is analysed to identify hazards, risks and opportunities to continuously improve the safety of patient care.'
Until 3 weeks ago, I had never heard of the NLRS, it has never been mentioned to me by Healthwatch, NHS England, or DHSC. From what I can gather it is for clinicians to use, not patients.
But, I have questions.
Lots and lots of questions.
I have contacted Vicky Foxcroft MP again and she will be tabling some parliamentary questions around this issue. I'll write a blog on the topic of the NLRS once the DHSC have responded to these questions.
Seems a bit...strange.
Onwards and upwards!
