Hi,
The UK Government's 'Summer recess' may mean we are treading water at the moment but the need for this new reporting system is still as great as ever.
Today is Severe M.E Day. It's the day in which we focus on the 25% who have the most severe form of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. Many of these severely affected patients will have deteriorated as a result of participating in Graded Exercise Therapy or CBT. They were encouraged to increase their activity to 'get better'.
All people living with M.E risk this deterioration when we 'push through' and exceed our energy envelope. NICE has acknowledged the potential harm and as such no longer recommends GET or CBT for M.E, however many medics are still advising M.E patients to increase their activity as a 'treatment'.
We need this reporting system ASAP.
Please watch the linked video. Great work from Adam (@BrokenBattery on YouTube/Twitter) if you are unfamiliar with Severe/Very Severe M.E.
Thank you for your support.
