When researching photos and articles of Harlem Hospital post 1935 I found that whether the camera was focused on the Women's Pavilion, Nurses' Residence or whatever, the author always labeled the cluster of buildings as Harlem Hospital.
So whenever written history talks about MLK at Harlem Hospital it's not clear as to exactly where in the hospital. That's why I had and continue to dig deeper. So far the evidence points to MLK spending a significant amount of time - to the degree of life saving - in the ER wing which was located in the Women's Pavillion.
In the attached photo I've circled the tower of the Women's Pavilion. ( @ W. 137th ) The check mark to the immediate left is the New Nurses' Residence. To the left of that is the original Nurses' Residence. ( Both @ W. 136th Street ) Above that is the twin building of the Lenox Avenue building. The Lenox Ave building actually looked like an inverted T ( I---) . When the twin was constructed those buildings formed an H shape.
Nevertheless, it made since to have the Emergency Room in the Women's Pavillion, as it was the newer building, aside from the Pediatric building which was attached to the WP.
