We, the undersigned, petition the Hawaiian Homes Commission and the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to preserve the race track set up by SORT LLC because it is unique and there is no other race track available on the island of Oahu. Racing brings our community together, fosters and educates our youth, and promotes safe and responsible driver education.  With the closure of Hawaii Raceway Park in 2006, Kalaeloa Raceway Park is the only remaining option to keep racing alive on Oahu.

Oahu’s motorsports community needs a home, a safe place to race, and the freedom to enjoy our automotive hobbies.

The taking away of this facility and training area will irreparably harm our youth as well as our community.  We are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to reconsider its actions against SORT LLC and to allow SORT LLC to remain in possession of the KALAELOA RACEWAY PARK and to hold another public hearing to allow us to address this issue by providing testimony in support of this petition and SORT LLC.

We formally request that you help us keep motorsports alive and well on our beautiful island home of Oahu.
