Fix the Oval at Woodland Grove Primary School Byford

I am one of luckiest parents whose kids go to Woodland Grove Primary School (WGPS). The school has been wonderful place for my kids and they love everything about it.

Currently the school oval is in a terrible state of disrepair. There has been issues with the oval since the school started in 2017. The oval is registered with Land Corp and hasn't been transferred to an entity (e.g. Department of Education or Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale). During the summer of 2019 SJ Shire turned the water off to the oval twice.

Due to lack of ownership the oval is in a such a bad shape that students may loose access to the oval due to high rick of injury to students & staff.

The school management has raised the issue with Department of Education & Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale but a little has been done to resolve this issue.

The upcoming Inter-house Carnival has been redirected to West Byford Primary School. This will result in kids walking from WGPS to West Byford Primary and kids in Kindy & Pre-Primary classes will only participate in a modified carnival on the tennis courts.

I urge all parents of WGPS and anyone who believes that every child deserves access to proper school facilities and this inaction by the Shire & State Government needs to stop. Please sign this petition so we can present this to our local Member of the Western Australian Legislative Council Ms Alyssa Hayden to present this to Legislative Assembly and to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
