The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented crisis. Nurses, doctors, patient care technicians, respiratory technicians, and other front line health care providers are working overtime trying to keep our communities safe from this disease. While we go to work every single day to care for the sick we also risk getting infected ourselves and possibly even bringing it home to our families. A number of healthcare workers around the world have already died, and will continue to die, in the line of duty.

Many healthcare workers took on significant student loan debt to get the training we needed to be able to serve our communities. When we go to work to take care of the sick and dying, risking our own health, we continue to pay for that privilege of serving our comminities through the burden of those loans.

We’re grateful for the words of support from many people during this pandemic and we’re going to continue going to work to save the lives of others while risking ours.
