Hi all,
Thank you to all of you for continuously showing your support with signing and sharing this petition. When I delivered my speech on Saturday, I had 113,000 signatures and now it's at 115,000. Keep on doing what you're all doing and let's not stop until this bill amendment has been voted against in NSW parliament.
I had a truly empowering and fulfilling time in Sydney. I was second to speak at the rally and this was my first time ever delivering a public speech. Although the cold and my nerves managed to get the better of me and I was shaking ridiculously, I delivered my speech! I then handed over all the signatures to David Shoebridge (Greens representative) who will be presenting them in parliament in the near future. I would like the thank everyone who approached me afterwards to talk to me about how they connected with my story. It was really touching to receive such a response, all of your support and to know that there are likeminded individuals who share similar journeys. I never expected such a response and I'm extremely grateful. If anyone wants to talk further about anything, I am contactable via email - samrocky.guerra@gmail.com
I was then lucky enough to walk at the front of the march and lead everyone through the streets to parliament house. It was so pleasing to see the amount of people who attended and marched with us to parliament house. Again, it's so incredible to see the amount of people wanting to fight against this bill amendment. I cannot reiterate enough how wrong and cruel it is.
What's next? I am still working hard to aid in all the ways possible against this bill amendment. I have an interview on 3CR Community Radio on Thursday 22/4 at 07:45 if you want to tune in and I'm working with change.org to see what other ways I can help out.
I've attached an article I found in response to the rally on the weekend if you're interested in reading.
Keep on signing and sharing and contributing in whichever way you possibly can. I and I'm sure everyone involved is truly grateful.
Stay safe :)
