This is important as I,and many others that I converse with,are against the barbaric slaughter of animals according to Islamic codes. I and many others choose NOT to eat Halal,and see it as being against OUR human rights by having it forced upon us.We do not live in an Islamic country,so why should we be forced to eat meat that is slaughtered in accordance with Islamic practices of cruelty? One that says animals should be killed by having their carotid artery sliced open and left to bleed out in agony. This would also make it possible to prosecute slaughterhouses that use these methods,as Halal butchers are currently immune from prosecution on the grounds of animal cruelty. And despite an EU ruling from 2010,stating that it is compulsory for Halal food to be labelled,I still have yet to see this enforced. If people that see this petition agree with me,and wish for the cruel,barbaric & inhumane treatment of animals stopped during slaughter then please sign and share this.
