TACTYC have responded to the new Early Years Teachers' Standards in a document dated 18th July 2013, available on: http://www.tactyc.org.uk/pdfs/Teacher's%20Standards.pdf The document describes that the Committee takes a poor view in regard to several elements of the new Teaching Standards and asks: " How can one set of teachers claim to be as important as or equivalent to those with QTS, when by virtue of the fact that they do not have QTS they will be paid less, have different terms and conditions of service and have fewer career opportunities?"
