Friends and supporters, I, my four sisters and the grandchildren of Windham M. (Bill) Frye, owe everyone who signed our petition a deep debt of gratitude. Last Tuesday, we attended the parole hearing of Jimmy Ray Cureton, the convicted murderer of my father. Cureton still maintained his innocence and accepted no personal responsibility for shooting my father in the chest and face. However, my sisters and my niece and I stood strong and made our requests for denial of parole. Fortunately, the parole board agreed that releasing Cureton at this time "would depreciate the seriousness of this crime which the offender stands convicted of and promote disrespect for the law." The bad news is that Cureton will be eligible for another attempt at parole in two years. So our battle is ongoing, but we as a family are not alone in attempting to keep dangerous offenders who took our loved ones by violence, in prison. This scene plays out thousands of times a day in courtrooms all across our county. That bit of bad news aside, we are so deeply grateful for this short reprieve and so thankful that each and everyone of you signed our petition and made a stand for justice for my father. If you left a comment, I did take the time to write you a short reply. I'll be calling on support again in two years, and I hope to have each and everyone of you stand along side my family and I again. Wishing you Peace, With a heart full of thanks, Daniel Frye and the surviving family of Bill Frye
