Friends, my heart is full of gratitude for the hundreds of signatures we have received so far. It's wonderful to see how our community and those across the country are joining in to remember my father.

My Dad was a good man, by no means perfect, but he was a loving soul who was so generous. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and nearly lost his life fighting for his country when his ship, the USS Hambleton, was struck by a torpedo from a German U-Boat. He deserved so many more years of life to enjoy his family but a cruel and violent man decided a different fate for him.

Today, Monday August 21, at 11:15 am, WATE Channel 6 has requested an interview regarding my family's efforts to keep Jimmy Ray Cureton behind bars.

I'm hopeful that this will spur many more signatures. Please continue to share the petition and this news. We are hopeful that we can win this hearing and keep a dangerous offender behind bars.
