Deny parole for convicted murderer Frank Ramos

Deny parole for convicted murderer Frank Ramos
The Issue
As a survivor of domestic violence and an advocate for change, I am compelled to bring attention to a grave injustice. Frank Ramos, inmate number TDCJ #00760786, has applied for parole after brutally murdering his girlfriend with a bat in front of their baby. It is a heart-wrenching reminder of the issues that plague our legal system, allowing violent offenders the possibility of early release without regard for the lifelong trauma inflicted on the victims' families.
Ramos's heinous act did not only end a life but devastated a family and left 3 children without a mother. The pain and terror witnessed by that innocent child on that fateful day are unimaginable and permanent. Granting parole to Ramos immensely threatens the emotional security of the victim’s family and gravely undermines the severity of his crime. Justice should prioritize upholding the rights and welfare of victims, ensuring that perpetrators of such atrocious acts face the full consequences of their actions.
Statistics by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence indicate that one in every three women experiences domestic abuse in her lifetime, and nearly 20 people are per minute physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. Such alarming data underscore the urgent need to hold offenders fully accountable and convey zero tolerance toward domestic violence.
Moreover, studies have found that a history of domestic violence can be a predictor of future violent acts. Granting parole to Ramos not only potentially endangers the community but also sends a signal that domestic violence is not taken seriously enough by our judicial system.
This is not just about keeping one man behind bars, but about advocating for systemic change within the parole process for convicted violent offenders. It is about ensuring that families of victims are not re-traumatized by the thought of their loved one’s killer re-entering society.
As part of my advocacy, I am painting murals to raise awareness of domestic violence—pushing for societal and judicial reforms. I urge you to join me in this cause. By signing this petition, you are voicing your support for justice, safety, and change within our system. Please, stand with us in denying parole to Frank Ramos and protecting our communities from domestic violence perpetrators. Together, our voices can spark the change that is so desperately needed.
