Return Historical Ship Wheel & Bell to Bde Maka Ska Naval Memorial

The Issue

These historical artifacts were wrongfully removed from the Bde Maka Ska naval memorial and handed over to Minnetonka High School. As original property of the Minneapolis Park Board, it is Minnetonka's obligation to rightfully return both the ship's wheel and bell to the state memorial honoring those that served in the U.S. Navy, and which acts as a source of pride for all who visit the memorial site.

We kindly petition for superintendent of Minnetonka Public Schools, Dennis Peterson, to do what is morally right and take action to help return these artifacts to a location where they can be appreciated by all. Bde Maka Ska served as a historical site for naval officers training for the war, and their spirit and efforts will continue to be honored once the memorial is restored in its entirety.

Responded
As was stated in the article, if the Minnetonka Public School District is asked to give the items to the Park Board, we will. As of now, we have not been asked to do so. There is no need for a petition.
