Mark Bosco Re-assigned as Senior Administrator
The principal from Myers Park, Mark Bosco (who had been suspended for almost 3 months), has been reassigned within Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools to the position of Senior Administrator of Expanded Learning and Partnerships. CMS created this entirely new position specifically for him that pays exactly what he made as principal, almost $150,000 a year.
This is following a statement from Bosco's attorney that after a “lengthy and thorough investigation of the facts, CMS finds no basis to conclude that Mark Bosco mishandled or failed to respond to any allegation of sexual misconduct.” However, this statement is missing one glaring detail: this "lengthy and thorough investigation" DID NOT INTERVIEW OR CONTACT A SINGLE VICTIM. Neither myself, my parents, or any of the other Myers Park survivors were contacted as part of this investigation. Not to mention the investigation was done internally by a CMS employee.
While this is a major setback in our campaign for justice and accountability, we will not give up or give in. We are planning a protest this Thursday the 21st at 6PM in Charlotte, NC at First Ward Park. If you live in Charlotte we would love for you to attend.
More to come on ways to support for those who are out of town or cannot attend the protest.
