Demand UN Intervention and Criminal Proceedings Against Pakistani Army Generals

The Issue

A chilling event unfolded on the fateful day of 26 November in Islamabad, Pakistan. My family, including my mother, joined the sea of peaceful protestors advocating for democracy, only narrowly escaping with their lives. They were met with heavy shelling and gunfire from ahead and above - a terrifying reality for many Pakistanis that day. It was a sleepless night filled with fear and uncertainty, hiding from police and wondering if they would see another sunrise. This is a personal appeal reflecting the horrifying experiences of countless unarmed civilians abused by military power. The army generals ordered troops to open fire on these unarmed civilians, a gross violation of human rights under any constitution. Moreover, attempts are being made to cover up this dreadful incident by concealing evidence, the bodies, and the bullets, a stark testimony to state oppression and the dismantling of democracy in Pakistan. The foreign powers and the United Nations must intervene to restore justice. Countries like the U.S. and UK have historically stepped in to advocate for human rights and democracy, and it is time they proved their commitment to these principles in the face of this tragedy. Let the army generals who authorized this violent act face criminal proceedings, let the truth be revealed, and justice served. It is time to stop undermining the power of the people, restore democracy and law and order in Pakistan. Lend your voice to this fight, sign this petition today.
