The Issue

We are the community that has kept Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege alive for over a decade. We love this game because no other shooter on the planet can replicate its heart-pounding, high-stakes tactical magic. It is a lightning-in-a-bottle formula that has given us unforgettable memories. But right now, Siege is suffocating under the weight of its own outdated technology, and playing the game we love has turned into an exercise in deep frustration.
We aren't just dealing with typical balance issues or shifts in metas; we are fighting against a crumbling 11-year-old engine that simply cannot keep up anymore. Every time a new season launches, our excitement is instantly cut short by game-breaking bugs, broken audio cues, and shots that clearly land but don't register. It is exhausting to invest your time, money, and passion into a competitive game where the code itself constantly cheats you out of a fair match. The dedicated development team at Ubisoft Montreal is clearly stuck in a nightmare loop—forced to spend their energy duct-taping old "spaghetti code" just to keep the game from collapsing, rather than actually building the exciting new content we all want to play. We have reached a breaking point where the technology is actively suffocating the fun, and corporate marketing stunts like "Siege X" have proven to be cheap band-aids that ignore the deep structural rot.
We aren't walking away from Siege; we want to play it for another ten years. But for that to happen, Ubisoft management needs to stop treating this game like a cash cow to be milked and start investing back into its future. We are formally petitioning Ubisoft leadership to give the developers the budget and timeline to build a dedicated pipeline that migrates Siege to a modern, stable engine framework (such as Ubisoft Snowdrop). This ground-up transition must respect the community by building a secure database bridge, ensuring that every single player's hard-earned progression, ranks, unlocked operators, and beloved cosmetics transfer over seamlessly.
By signing this, we are sending a clear message to Ubisoft: we still believe in Siege, but we will no longer support a broken foundation. It is time to get real, stop the shortcuts, and give this legendary game the engine it deserves.
